Two Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
